Access Control Systems
Richards CCTV, Access Control solutions are designed to control, monitor and restrict access to identified areas of a building. Our door entry systems range from sophisticated biometric readers to robust vandal-resistant readers for hostile environments and extend to stand-alone keypad entry solutions with an Intercom.
Access control provides a secure, convenient, flexible and affordable way of managing who is allowed into your building and when.
Businesses must ensure the safety of their assets and personnel, permitting people to go wherever is required. Unfortunately, having locks and keys on doors open all day can result in possible theft or damage from individuals taking advantage of the situation.
Installing an access control system eliminates the need to change locks. Tokens are registered and can be quickly removed from the system if not used by authorized personnel or misplaced
Systems may be designed to cover a single site with a few people or across hundreds of sites with thousands of users.
We can also integrate with other systems, such as ANPR, for automated gatehouses in distribution centres, providing time and attendance solutions or incorporating smart ID cards.
Products Include:
Standalone keypad devices are compact bits of hardware that can be installed close to an entrance. They must be linked with a distinct door release device and a power source to provide entry.
With the use of a handset, occupants can identify who's at the door and grant or deny them entry with an easy click of a button.
A magnetic or swipe card access system requires the user to have a card with a magnetic strip on the back, which can be read by an electronic reader at each entry point. This system type is commonly called a 'swipe entry' because it involves physically swiping the card.
A biometric access control system is a digital entry system that regulates who has access to a specific area through the use of biometrics such as facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, palm veining, and more. This safeguards any type of security-sensitive property or data.
This Personal Identification Number (PIN) is assigned to each user and used alone or in combination with an access card. It serves as a "front-end" for allowing entry.
A key fob, also known as a hardware token, can be used to provide single-factor authentication for gaining entry to restricted spaces or areas.
These use an electric current to provide locking and unlocking abilities. A solenoid, electromagnet or motor can be used as the current source, while an option of fail-safe or fail-secure must be decided on. Fail-safe locks will open when power is disconnected, while fail-secure remains shut.
Barriers & Gates also enhance your security solutions to reduce theft & vandalism whilst automating access improves efficiency, releases man power & reduces time wastage.
As part of CCTV project installs, we can include in our services:
Barriers can be used in physical security to set limits, hinder or stop entry, limit activity to a certain area, obstruct visual surveillance into or from an area, and prevent technical infiltration.
Raised kerb platforms create a roadblock with their hollow steel frame. They can be kept flush to the ground when unused but extended to deny access to unauthorised vehicles. This makes them the perfect solution for sites that require stringent entry/exit control.
Turnstiles offer physical protection in commercial structures and places which draw plenty of visitors. There is a variety of security turnstiles available.
Security gates, are movable metal barriers installed over store openings or built into storefront windows or doors when retail outlets are closed to protect them from theft and vandalism.
Security bollards protect vulnerable building areas as a physical and visual deterrent. They are highly customisable to fit the needs of any situation, providing a safe and secure environment where lives and property are safeguarded.
